So why still recommend wheeled for most jobs?

Because the majority of underground tunnels, mining drifts, and civil excavations are designed with gentle gradients well below 6°. Flat or nearly flat roadways are the industry norm. In such conditions, a wheeled mucking loader climbs easily and productively.

Only when your project involves inclined shafts, sloping ramps above 6°, or consistently underseepage that reduces tire grip does the crawler’s higher gradeability become necessary.
