What Type of Hydraulic Oil Should Be Used for Mining Muck Loaders?

Recently, several customers have asked what hydraulic oil to use for mining muck loaders. They are worried that the muck loaders will have problems if they choose the wrong hydraulic oil. Additionally, we’ve received inquiries from overseas customers asking about the hydraulic oil specifications for muck loaders. Here, we would like to share some useful information in the hope that it will assist those in need.

Mining muck loaders primarily operate using an electric hydraulic system, and hydraulic oil is the essential medium for these machines. Specifically, mining muck loaders use *#46 anti-wear hydraulic oil*, with the oil tank of the ZWY50 muck loader holding about 50 liters.

When these machines leave the factory, the hydraulic oil is already filled to capacity. After about two months of operation, users should completely replace the hydraulic oil. It is important not to simply add more oil without changing the old oil. The hydraulic oil should be replaced approximately every four months thereafter. Many users tend to top up the oil without changing it, which leads to the accumulation of contaminants in the system. Over time, this buildup can damage hydraulic components, making regular replacement essential.

Muck loader manufacturers also emphasize the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of the hydraulic oil during replacements. Contaminants like water or diesel fuel must not mix with the oil, much like how water mixing with gasoline in a car can diminish performance or even damage the engine.
