How to remove the tires of wheel mucking loader?

Wheel mucking loaders are versatile machines with hydraulic functions such as walking, excavation, collection, transportation, loading, and bottom cleaning. These machines are widely used in industries like metal and non-metal mining, hydropower station tunnels, water diversion tunnels, and railway engineering, especially in tight and challenging workspaces where large machinery cannot easily access. They are essential for digging, transporting, and loading ores, minerals, mud, and stones.

Due to the harsh working environment, the tires of wheel mucking loaders often experience significant wear. Removing the tires from large wheel mucking loaders can be a challenging task. The separation of the tire from the rim is often difficult, especially after long periods of use without disassembly. Over time, rust may cause the tire and rim to bond tightly together. A common method involves deflating the tire and using back-and-forth movement to roll over it to help loosen the bond.

However, there’s a more effective trick that can help achieve better results. After removing the locking ring from the tire, add water between the tire and the rim to lubricate the surfaces. Then, use two bulldozer blades to press on both sides of the tire. Place a suitably sized iron rod horizontally across the rim in the center, and attach a steel wire rope. Using a crane or loader, lift the tire. This method allows the tire and rim to separate more easily.

By following this approach, operators can effectively and safely remove the tires from wheel mucking loaders, ensuring the maintenance process is efficient and minimizes potential damage to components.
