What Are the Temperature Ranges for the Components of a Mining Muck Loader?

 

Mining muck loaders operate under intense conditions, often leading to elevated temperatures in various components. In extreme cases, these high temperatures can damage parts, resulting in the loader ceasing to function. Addressing the issue of temperature control during operation is crucial for maintaining the loader’s performance.

 

Each component of the loader has a specific temperature range within which it should operate. For instance, the normal temperature range for the cooling water is between 80°C and 90°C, while the hydraulic oil in the hydraulic transmission system should be maintained between 30°C and 60°C. Operating outside these ranges can accelerate wear and tear on parts, degrade lubricating oils, and alter the material properties of the loader’s components.

 

Practical experience and experiments have shown that the wear on the main transmission gears and bearings of the muck loader increases by 10 to 12 times when operating in lubricating oil at -5°C compared to 3°C. Conversely, excessively high temperatures can also speed up the degradation of lubricating oil. For example, if the oil temperature exceeds 55-60°C, the oxidation rate of the oil doubles with every 5°C increase in temperature.

 

To prevent damage, it is essential to avoid operating the loader under excessive loads at low temperatures. Ensure that the machine is allowed to warm up properly at a low speed until it reaches the specified temperature before commencing normal operations. High-temperature operation should also be avoided; if the component temperatures exceed the specified ranges during operation, the loader should be stopped for inspection and cooling. Any damaged parts should be promptly repaired or replaced.

 

If the cause of a temperature issue is not immediately apparent, it is crucial not to ignore the problem. Regular checks on the cooling system are necessary. For water-cooled machines, the cooling water must be checked and topped up daily before work begins. For air-cooled machines, the cooling system should be cleaned regularly to ensure that the heat dissipation pathways are clear.
